First, may we extend a warm welcome to all our Web site visitors.
We're Amalgamated Transit Union Local 113. Our 8,000-plus members are involved in the operation and maintenance of services related to public transit in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. You can find a short history of our union here.
Every year, the ATU Local 113 hockey team plays the NHL Oldtimers for charity. Over the years we've raised over $350,000 for MS Research. In addition, Local 113 members raise thousands of dollars for other causes such as the United Way. (The Multiple Sclerosis Society is the official charity of the Amalgamated Transit Union).
In addition, individual members are heavily involved in their communities as coaches, leaders for youth and many, many groups. Our hats are off to our member volunteers.
We'd like this Web site to serve as a resource for our members and others interested in our union. Please enjoy the site!

Our Objective - Constitution and General Laws.
The objective of this Association shall be to place our occupation upon a higher plane of intelligence, efficiency and skill: to encourage the formation in Division Associations of sick and funeral benefits funds in order that we may properly care for our sick and bury our dead; to encourage the organization of co-operative credit unions in the Local Divisions; to establish schools of instruction for imparting a practical knowledge of modern and improved methods and systems of transportation and trade matters generally; to encourage the settlement of all disputes between employees and employers by arbitration; to secure employment and adequate pay for our work, including vacations with pay and old-age pensions; to reduce the hours of labour and by all legal and proper means to elevate our moral, intellectual and social conditions.
By-Laws.
It is proposed to defend the rights of the members of this Division as these rights are, or may be, by law established, and to co-operate with all persons charged with responsibility of the administration of any office or offices concerned with the preservation of these rights.
